904L Welded Tubing Stainless Steel is an austenitic grade of stainless steel that has high nickel (23–28%) and chromium (19–23%) contents, with the addition of molybdenum and copper to have improved resistance against corrosion and chemical attack. It provides superior resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking in acidic and chloride environments. The tensile strength of the tubing ranges from 490–710 MPa while its yield strength ranges approximately around 220 MPa. Welded construction is suitable for low to moderate pressure uses wherein cost-effective fabrication can be maintained as well as wherein corrosion resistance is extremely important.
